In Dragon Age Origins; is it beneficial to be a duelist specialization with archery talents?

Obada asked:

I want to make a duelist character from a dalish elf, and to make most my talents in the archery branches, will this be beneficial? or are the duelist talents only effective with melee weapons?

  1. Captain Obvious says:

    Go outside more.

  2. Lauren says:

Duelist spec is melee only, so Archery wouldn’t benefit from it.

If you’re planning on switching back and forth from bow/arrows to swords then having both archery talents and duelist talents would be good though you wont be able to master either one. If you want to just be an archer then I would suggest getting ranger specialization then you can summon an animal to fight along side you which helps to keep bad guys from attacking you directly. If you want to just be a melee fighter then you shouldn’t really be getting any of the archery talents at all it would just be a waste.

duelist only works with duel weapons-which doesn’t include a bow and arrow haha
it’s better to be a duelist that goes up and slaughters
