Take a summer camp!
I take a specific one for fencing, and a different one for wind surfing.
Check out a local hunting club or visit a gun store. They will help. Do an online search for your area.
Ask your parents to get you a gun and then take you to a gun club or range.
My son is 8 and my daughter is 6, both already have their own guns and shoot. My daughters is pink…lol
“nothing succeeds like perseverance” ‘The only way I can tell you to start is to find someone to give you a few lessons, decide upon which type of bow you intend to become proficient with, a compound or long bow, and then get tackle that matches your build and body type, then shoot a hundred arrows a day for several weeks…go online, chances are there are indoor and outdoor ranges within a short distance of where you live…good luck and be safe.
check out youth shooting programs such as through Boyscouts/Girlscouts or 4-H
another option would be to contact ODCMP (civilian marksmanship program) they offer youth air rifle and youth firearms training at summer camps and hold competitive shoots
From their website:
PROGRAMS: For marksmanship training, competitions, National Matches, safety information and youth marksmanship.
Email:
The NRA also offers youth shooting programs
PA, are you far away from Lancaster? Lancaster Archery is perhaps the largest archery store in the US, pay them a visit they’ll have a JOAD program no doubt. Failing that, head to and go under the JOAD page under Programs. See what’s available in your area. Good luck
Some organizations to look into: ……………….. .National 4-H website (they have archery and firearms training – and they usually provide the bows and the firearms) . Links to the various 4-H groups in Pennsylvania …………………………… Society for Creative Anachronisms, Inc website (Activities include “Traditional” Archery, in a “Mediaeval” setting) ………… U.S. organization for Olympic Target Archery (No, you don’t have to do Olympic Archery, but it’s a good place to learn)
There are other options, too — all you have to do is look for them.
You can join your local 4H club they usually have a range and different competitions set up for kids.I just got my son who is 10 years old set up in 3-D Shoots there is usually one held every couple weeks a month.Go on line and search for 3-D Shoots.com They will give all the shoots in your area. They are a lot of fun even if your parents don’t shoot they will have fun going with you they are very inexpensive and a great way to get outdoors.Have fun and don’t be afraid to go to your local archery shops and ask questions.
you have to take a safety class first you town should have one every year or a town near you
